Project name: Military Road
The works began with the setting out of traffic management to safely manage the site. Trenches approximately 600mm wide and a 3x3m manhole excavation were completed, with trench sheets installed for support. Existing pipes were exposed and cut to allow connections to the new drainage system, and concrete rings were installed to form new manholes. The new drainage pipes were laid to connect to on-site manholes, with benching installed to ensure proper flow. Rodding points were installed where required, and all pipes and concrete rings were backfilled to the specifications provided in the current drawings. Brickwork and manhole covers were constructed and set to the correct levels. SoThe sub-base and binder course of tarmac were laid to specification, followed by the installation of the surface course to reinstate the roadway and pathways. The site was cleaned down, all machinery and traffic management removed, and the pathways and roadway reopened.
