Project name: Cheney Farm

The works at Cheney Farm in Gravesend included preparing the site and foundations, breaking out existing slabs where required, excavating and pouring reinforced concrete pads, and constructing a 450mm blockwork upstand with black engineering brick. Drainage works involved installing a new cess pit, connecting foul drainage, and installing a rainwater harvesting system with a stormwater crate soakaway.

The structural steel frame, mezzanine, staircases, thermal wall panels, and roof panels with fixed rooflights were installed ready for a green roof. All works were integrated with the existing building, and follow-on works included strengthening the roof for photovoltaic panels, replacing the roof and cladding with insulated panels, installing new rainwater guttering, and completing trenches and backfill for drainage crates.
